Today I was invigilating again in a space across the road from the previous one. The work is by Tom Hignett, a technician at the University of Chester. He creates these pieces by taking famous paintings such as the Mona Lisa, then rearranges the pixels that make up the image and is left with a bright abstract version of the original painting. I found Toms work very interesting as not only are his works interesting but it is as if he is recycling old paintings to create something more contemporary. While I was invigilating, a number of people expressed interest in purchasing some of his works so I passed along Toms email.
